ORTUS is owned by the Maudsley Charity and surplus goes back into the trust in the form of grants, to support better care, recovery and prevention of mental illness.

The venue is open to everyone and regularly used by the public sector and for corporate and private events, offering a welcoming atmosphere, environmental efficiency and openness.

ORTUS is owned by and purpose-built by the Maudsley Charity, which support innovation, research and service improvement, and raise public awareness and understanding of mental health.
Working closely with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), which provides the UK’s widest range of mental health services, and the world renowned Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, the charity help fund ground-breaking neurological and mental health research, service improvements and therapeutic programmes.
